This is probably one of the, if not THE most iconic views in Scotland. ‘The Buachaille’ as it is affectionately known by climbers and photographers alike, is a series of mountains that make up an 8km ridge. The River Etive is also seen in this photo.

Most people mistakenly think that the mountain in this photography is ‘The Buachaille’ but in-fact the mountain in question is called ‘Stob Dearg’ a 1,021.4m (3,351 ft) Munro that stands at the forefront of the ridge and entranceway to Glen Etive.

“Buachaille Etive Mor” is Scots gaelic but in English it translates as “the herdsman of Etive”.
