This is one of my older photos, taken in the quaint seaside village of Portencross on Scotland’s West coast.

Portencross is located on the coast of North Ayrshire and is a popular destination for photographers, offering spectacular views of Little Cumbrae, the Isle of Bute, Arran and beyond. For such a small village it has many points-of-interest… a pier, a harbour, a castle and alot of interestingly shaped rocks.

No matter what the time of day or year, you are guaranteed that this wee place will never look the same twice. And THAT’S why it is so popular with photographers!

On this particular Spring evening I decided to look for something different than my usual shots, and I was very grateful to see that one of the village residents had upturned this little boat.
